www.oneword.com - one word, so little time [alarm]

[osquer42]

I was quite alarmed when I saw the state of my drawers. They had been pulled out and turned upside down. My posessions were scattered all around the room as though some agency with initials (FBI, DEA, ATF, etc.) had searched the place. The three-year-old sat among the clutter with a satisfied grin on his face. He'd found what he'd been looking for - entertainment.

I delve in the heart

morning treasure troves.

www.oneword.com (one word - so little time) [sage]

[osquer42]

"Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley sage rosemary and thyme..." I sang happily to my herbs as I pulled weeds from their midst. The garden gnome rolled his eyes but smiled indulgently. Didn't I know he was the one who really did all the work? Oh, well as long as the plants were happy.

haiku - for Michelle

warmed by the thought of

curling up with you on the

coolest ice there is

"Why do I smell wet dog?"

I swear I have the weirdest dog on the planet. Tally hates to ride in cars, but loves to get a bath! Thanks, Dad, for helping me get the monster clean!

OneWord - So Little Time [moonlight]

Shadows play their dark, secret games in the crevices where the moonlight cannot reach. Tiny night creatures dance in and out of watery reflections that they don't even notice they are making. They are too intent on their business which seems huge to them.

Thank you so much, Michelle, for a magical word! That was fun!

Hope you don't mind me trying out a different poetic form this evening, Sam!

One Word - So Little Time [eureka]

"Eureka, will you come here, please?" I begged the tiny black cat who was glaring at me from under the sofa. "I know you don't want to come out of there, but the time has come! I've got to put you in your carrier and get us on the road. If not, we'll never make it to Neverland!"

* * * * * * *

Thank you , Samual Spade, for another great word! Your word for today is astonish!

haiku - for Bea

Here's an update on those veggies, Bea! Remember the pepper that was the size of a nickle?

And here's the tomato that was the size of a quarter!

I'm so excited! My sundial has arrived! Tomorrow at noon, I'm going to take it out to the herb garden and orient it!

55 Fiction Friday

"Mademoiselle?" queried the attendant, "Votre billet, sil vous plait?"

Iris came out of her distracted reverie long enough to pull her ticket from the glove where she had palmed it. As she turned, her attention was caught by a tall, dark haired man across the deck of the dingy boat. She had seen him before!

OneWord - So Little Time [frugal]

He had always been frugal with his endearments. I thought at the time that he was cold, unfeeling. I wouldn't realize until much later that he was really scared to death of me....frightened of what allowing my emotions to affect him might mean to his well ordered life.

Thanks Bea for another great word! I briefly considered writing something about the Frugal Gormet. Cooking shows are very popular in my family.
