I wrote my first #AtFirstKiss of 2023 today

She was walking past his trailer when he saw the rainstorm bearing down on her. "Come inside! Quickly!"
She knew from the tone of his voice that she should obey. She didn't even look behind herself. She just ran to him.
As he drew her through the door, he took her in his arms. "There's something I've been wanting to tell you," he hesitated.
"It's alright," she said softly, "take your time."
"No." His voice was a soft growl, "I've wasted too much time!"
Her lips were cool and wet from the rain at the leading edge of the storm. The thunder of the hail that followed was just about enough to drown out the pounding of his heart.
