As sagacious as her guardian was, he had not discovered that every night at midnight little Sally sneaked out of the house and went wandering over the countryside. She cavorted with faeries and elves to her heart's content and then nipped back to her bed every morning before breakfast time. Luckily for her she was still expected to take a nap every day. It never occurred to her guardian to wonder why she was so willing to lie down quietly every afternoon.
