I lay quite still in the tall grass and held my breath lest a bit of pollen make me sneeze. I had just managed to dismantle the still in time. The sheriff and his men were nearly to the clearing where I was crouching. Suddenly a car engine roared nearby. My brother had made it to the car. He would draw them off, giving me time to gather up the hooch and take it off in the truck.
