I watched, my heart in my throat, as flame charred the platform. The ship began to lift with impossible slowness. Then suddenly it had cleared the tower and was free in the blue sky. I knew that sky would suddenly go black and then become glittered with billions and billions of stars. I remained earthbound while my love flew out into the universe. I raised my hand and found that it easily covered the already distant ship.
