I spit and sputtered.
I'd walked into cascades of
hidden spider webs!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?… There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do…as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same." ~M.Williamson

I'd appreciate that Rob - and if you can find out if it's venomous that would be useful to know. This is the second spider of this type I've witnessed with a web on a porch and I really should find out if I need to give it a wide berth. It's body is about the size of a dime (or a small filbert)if that helps. It's a monster!
Okay, that size comparison might be slightly exaggerated, but it seemed pretty big to me. I'm not going out there in the dark with a ruler and a flashlight!
beautiful pic and words to match
i could see and hear that spittysputtering) :)
cheers
Thanks, Floots! I actually had walked into a spider web the day before. I'm just relieved that it's wasn't this monster's web!
