A bittersweet moment today: I used the last of my most favourite yarn of all time. I bought it years ago as a mill end with no label. I know I'll never find it again. I made a scrunchie to match my favourite one so I don't have to save it for special occasions to avoid wearing it out.

17:20 hrs

It's been a cooler day, spent indoors listening to stories and watching Time Team on YouTube. However, I took advantage of a sunny spell to take a stroll to the lake with a feline companion.The change since I last visited is amazing.

Intermarche has ginormous avocados on sale this week. I enjoyed half of one with my breakfast this morning. 🥑😋

Mr. C gave me The Granny Square Card Deck for my birthday. I'll #crochet 1 square every week with Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/8 yarn, size H (5mm) hook. This will give me 50 squares with 2 weeks to join them into...something before my next birthday. Week 29 - X Marks The Spot Square

Today was a learning day. First, because I couldn't find a pattern for a crocheted star that someone posted that I really wanted to make, I stared at a picture and counted stitches until I figured it out.

Then I followed a YouTube tutorial to make the "Stained Glass" Granny Square which I've wanted to try for a while. It is complicated but not difficult, if that makes sense.

The customs inspectors (Moriarty and Watson) have consulted and approved the latest delivery from my Fairy Yarnmother. I see more hats and hippos in the future. Mr. C and I are both excited about the bakewell tarts. 😋

I love how this beanie and fingerless gloves set turned out. Now I have to convince myself that I don't need another set. For now they're in my "in case I need a gift for someone box."

I had a catastrophic skein collapse today but, thanks to a bit of patience and pure pig headedness, I managed to sort it without having to resort to scissors.
