Update on us.

An overcast day wasn't conducive to doing anything other than having breakfast accompanied by an episode of Jeeves and Wooster before Fair Damsel listened to a Terry Pratchett story whilst I had a lengthy nap.

Later, Fair Damsel hit upon the idea of forgoing our traditional Sunday dinner in favour of Paella with chicken, chorizo (sausage), and mussels. It was absolutely Sunbeamadelicious!😋

Afterwards, we watched an episode of Death in Paradise.

All's well in our world, Sunbeams.

Happy National Hat Day!

The latest trend in the crochet community seems to be jester hats. So, I jumped on the bandwagon and made a fool of myself. 🃏

I finally used some yarn that my brother gave me years ago. I'd been waiting for just the right project. My resolution for 2026 is: stop hoarding and use it! No more saving things for a special occasion. Life is a special occasion.

Today's glimmer is this cute teddy I spotted peeking around the corner at me when I was waiting in the camper while Mr. C ran an errand.

The statue behind him is Femne Flamme (Flame Woman) by Lise Tatin.

Mr. C got to make his snowman. We named him King Verence since we are currently enjoying the audiobook of 'Carpe Jugulum' by Sir Terry Pratchett. Mr. C says he's a master of unarmed combat.

Another stashtopus!

🎶 Papillon, mon papillon, je reviendrai à toi un jour. 🎵🦋

Mr. C and I just enjoyed our Galette des Rois or King Cake, traditionally eaten on the first Sunday after Januart 1st. I found the fève or "bean" which in modern times is represented by a tiny porcelain figure inside the cake. That makes me the king. 👑

I love making these octopi. I went though my leftovers stash and found some fun yarn. Mr. C asked if we can keep the blue one. Of course I said yes even though we now have 11 octopi in residence. I would never deny him anything I make and it means the world to me that he loves my creations. It's the biggest octopus I've made do far. I'm making another one with the same yarn now to give away.
