To Vitre this AM for Mr. C's latest scan. All is well.

We passed some artistic signs for the Tour de France and an agricultural festival I was sorry to have missed. I would have enjoyed the most beautiful cow contest. 

The yellow crane is an inside joke about our trip to St. Malo when we got lost trying to get back to our camper, "Well, it was by the big yellow crane!" We could see the crane. We just couldn't find a street that led to it. 😂

The manager also kindly let me take the display strip and hook as well. So my new yarn is hung neatly where I can stare at it with my ridiculously happy grin. I'm going to learn the Willow Square. I'm going to make the squares with the coloured yarn and join them with the white.

This yarn display has been at Intermarche, apparently untouched, since I came to France over 5 years ago. My tendency to anthropomorphize makes me feel bad for it. Even though I don't need it, I will probably break down eventually and buy some. If I had a spare 45€ I'd buy all of it and make a pretty little blanket.

I'm going to have to take a short break from social media and news consumption. It's really taking a toll on my mental health. Friends are welcome to contact me directly and I will possibly post good things found in our world but I will not be surfing the web for a while. I love you all.

I'm watching the annual Bastille Day Parade on YouTube and giggling as I hope someone shows the 🍊🍆🥔 the videos. The tanks are impressive. The service members are proud and precise. The dignitaries are standing respectfully, not lolling bored in their seats. Happy crowds are cheering. I hope DJT is eating his heart out!

We just got back from grocery shopping. We had to make sure we have enough milk and such to last until Tuesday. Tomorrow the Tour de France comes through our village so what roads aren't closed will be choked with parked cars from spectators. Then Monday is Bastille Day and everything will be closed. I just made Mr. C a tomato sandwich for his tea. I'm having humus and bakery fresh bread.

I also harvested the tomatoes from my poor plant which succumbed to the heat. They're not worth eating as the skin is like leather, but I'll save the seeds to put in my raised garden bed. They were so hot from the sun that I think they're pre-cooked.

I didn't use the tomatoes from our garden for Mr. C's sandwich. 😂

Happy Gotcha Day to our little clown, Watson. She joined our family a year and a day after Moriarty did.

I love making these wee mice. Usually I use a bulky (5) yarn and they come out about the size of a golf ball, but I had a bit of super-chunky yarn and decided to pull out my 9mm hook and see what I could do with it. Look how cute he turned out! I'm gonna make some more. 🐁😍

After visiting the pharmacy in La Guerche, I waited in the camper while Mr. C cycled to the bank. I had just enough time to snap a picture of this group, apparently some kind of tour, as they rode past in a carriage, drawn by a beautiful horse, before they turned the corner.

Snacking French style: chicken, cheese, lettuce, and tomato on baguette. 😋 🐔🧀🥬🍅🥖

I'm taking a bath and this is my current view.

You can call me crazy for crocheting cold weather gear in the heat of July. It took me some thinking to realize why I want to. A cooler start with a thunderstorm saw us heading to Intermarche for supplies. It soon warmed up but is still comfortable.

Fair Damsel finally identified Rincewind with this photograph taken after a rather enthusiastic bath splashed her. He/she/they is/are a European starling.
