Dandelions have been so ever present that I always assumed they were autochthonous. I didn't realize that they had been brought over from Europe by settlers. Stupid humans. Actually, I never really minded dandelions. I'd always found them to be rather cheerful, and as I child I could always make my grandmother smile with a dandelion bouquet.
