As I ran my fingers over the intricate etchings on the blade of the sword I had found, I suddenly realized that there were strange letters hidden there. "Runes." Gandalf muttered, looking over my shoulder, "Ancient writings." I looked over to Bilbo who was fooling around with a dagger a little way off. His litter ears perked up, "Whatever are 'runes?'" He asked.
