“Where's J.P.?" I asked, finding only one twin in the kitchen.
“He's out back,” replied P.J. innocently.
“Oh, great,” I muttered pulling on my boots. I grabbed my gun and my canteen and headed for the back door. J.P. wouldn't stop at the fence. He would have crossed the back yard and headed into the sprawling outback where he might just encounter anything, and I was the one who would have to rescue him from whatever it happened to be.
