OneWord - so little time [vitreous]

"You know, you have a really vitreous sense of humor." I suggested.

"How's that?" He asked quizzically.

"Transparent and quite frankly a bit disgusting when not contained."

Wow, Mom, who'd have thought your first comment on my blog would create such a challenge! Great word!

Wait, is mom part of the oneword? I like challenges and this one seems feasible. This topic was going to be broached in my oneword response to 'anticipation' but I reneged.

A hard habit to break is that of thinking parents are invincible. Upon my fathers death I stopped taking all things for granted, with the exception of one. I openly admit that I take my mother for granted, still. But now as we sit in a familar place of anticipation where each phone call is a hell, I am shown the true vitreous nature of my mom. I'm not ready to be orphaned.

May I borrow a father, I mean, tissue.

Hi, Lefty! No, Mom is not part of the OneWord challenge. Mom is who posted the word vitreous. I had the same confusion for a moment.

It's so easy for us to take each other for granted. You are so right to struggle against that. It's something I need to do, too. I hope you'll always feel free to write whatever you like in my comments section (for OneWord posts or any others)!

I'd happily share my dad with you if I thought it would help! Your writings about your father helped me realize some time ago that I need to not take him for granted!
