She stood there with her
emotions akimbo while
his gaze stained her cheek.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?… There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do…as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same." ~M.Williamson

Lovely.
I have so many fond memories of the old Forbes Field and watching the Pirates play back in the 60s. My uncle was a police officer in Pittsburgh for many years.
Cheers!
Oooo, I love it!
Don, thanks for the visit and the compliment. I work with quite a few cops. Good lads!
PW, glad you enjoyed it! I really enjoyed writing this one.
Osquer42...I remember as a young boy the first time I saw my Uncle Jim in his police uniform. I was impressed, and proud to have an uncle who was a police officer. Of course, there was that memorable afternoon when he let me hold his revolver (empty of course). Wow. Could be the stuff of which a poem is made.
