Mr. C gave me The Granny Square Card Deck for my birthday. I'll #crochet 1 square every week with Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/8 yarn, size H (5mm) hook. This will give me 50 squares with 2 weeks to join them into...something before my next birthday. Week 16 - Berries Square

I'm testing another crochet pattern. Thank goodness I have Watson to help me. I don't know what I'd do without her keen observation skills.

The 28th of May has become our Annual Picnic Day. We take the camper to the park at La Selle-Guerchaise where we enjoy sandwiches, crisps, tea, and a game of Boggle.

A trip to Intermarche saw me shopping with Fair Damsel for the first time in over six weeks. I was pretty slow, tbh, but it was a milestone. I also made it through the day without sleeping.

We celebrated with egg, chips, baked beans & sausages.

A restful day spent watching an Agatha Christie drama before I slept for a couple of hours.

Fair Damsel made toad-in-the-hole with gravy whilst I made roast potatoes and veg.

Our dear little rescue bird, Rincewind, achieved a milestone today. They've started eating food from their dishes. This means we will be able to stop hand feeding them. I'm going to try offering them some blackberries tomorrow.

Sarah drove me to the hospital and acted as a translator. The surgeon was happy with my recovery from the operation and arranged an appointment with her colleague for the second emergency issue.

I've had a tiring day and fell asleep as we listened to a story. Luckily, Fair Damsel woke me in time for dinner and treated me to courgettes, which went down a treat with mashed potatoes and smoked chicken.😋

Awoke at 08:30, and did french before making breakfast.

Afterwards, I slept for several hours, then sorted the recycling and chatted with Sarah and Michel, who were working outside.

Fair Damsel made beef stew.

Nature does funny things. I almost felt a little guilty about separating these conjoined mushrooms before putting them in the pot.

I crocheted blue stars for the fronts and white stars for the backs, joining them with red. The hats are buttons.

It doesn't happen often, but once in a while I get to take pleasure in abandoning and frogging a #crochet project. I was making new chair cushion covers with fine yarn and a small hook. It would have taken forever. Sarah and Michel gave us new (to us) chairs, no cushions needed.

We do need to weed the gravel around our front porch, but it's hard to pull the forget-me-nots and daisies, especially when they produce wonders like this.
