It doesn't happen often, but once in a while I get to take pleasure in abandoning and frogging a #crochet project. I was making new chair cushion covers with fine yarn and a small hook. It would have taken forever. Sarah and Michel gave us new (to us) chairs, no cushions needed.

Mr. C gave me The Granny Square Card Deck for my birthday. I'll #crochet 1 square every week with Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/8 yarn, size H (5mm) hook. This will give me 50 squares with 2 weeks to join them into...something before my next birthday. Week 13 - Kisses Square

We do need to weed the gravel around our front porch, but it's hard to pull the forget-me-nots and daisies, especially when they produce wonders like this.

We had a duvet covering one of our windows to keep out the cold. I took it down today and put it on the foot of the bed until I can put it away. Miss Watson thinks we should just leave it where it is.

Took a couple of brief strolls in the sunshine. Fair Damsel has been crocheting as she slowly recovers from all the stress of the past couple of weeks.

We had pork chops, boiled potatoes, and baked beans for dinner.

Well, I managed to NOT completely ruin my peanut butter cookies, but it wasn't for lack of trying. When the timer went off I saw that the temp was set to 125° C, not 175° C. There was nothing for it but to turn the oven up and put them back in. They turned out okay, thank goodness.

Last night, Rincewind proved to be a cunning escape artist. I was feeding them when they backed away, forcing me to lift the lid of the cage. It was only a fraction, but in a flash, they were out and flapping around the room.

Learning to read #crochet charts, I did 7 over the past 2 days. One skein of variegated yarn yielded 15 items for #RandomActsOfCrochetKindness. They're Rainbow hued; so, I think I'll save them to scatter in June for #PrideMonth.

By stitching together two African Flower hexagons, I was able to make a little pouch and put some sweeties inside. I hope finding this little bonbonnière will lift someone's spirits.

Rincewind has become very vocal about when they want feeding. They've been fed 9 times today.

They are definitely more bird shaped now. I'm using they/them pronouns because we know neither Rincewind's sex nor gender.

I've had a busy morning getting the family fed: first Rincewind, who was squawking for his breakfast, then Moriarty and Watson, then Rincewind again, and finally Mr. C and myself.

Might take a nap.

I managed to construct new temporary quarters for Rincewind. He still can't quite fly but he was able to get out of the bathtub. This will be safe in the bedroom where he can see us and hear the birds in the eaves. The cats can't get to him. He is still eating well.

One of our little charges, alas, crossed The Rainbow Bridge about 10PM last night never having rallied from trauma of fall and cold. The other two are stronger and both taking food, one more greedily than the other. We are doing our best for Rincewind & Twoflower.
