I went to sleep last night thinking about this. The garlic confit I made yesterday is absolutely scrumptious on toast. 😋

I had a cooking day today which I haven't been able to do in some time. In addition to pork steaks with mushroom and onion gravy, roast potatoes and carrots, and sautéed mushrooms for dinner, I waa able to turn 3 heads of garlic into garlic confit. I got one jar of delicious spreadable garlic and another of garlic and rosemary infused olive oil. 😋 The rosemary came from my herb garden.

Every October I add a new crocheted pumpkin to my pumpkin patch hoping that it will be sincere enough to attract The Great Pumpkin. Even though I despise making puff stitches, when I saw the tutorial video for this cutie, I had to give it a go.

Our garden and picnic table are very popular with the local village and farm cats. Tonight, while we were preparing dinner, Mr. C managed to get some video of a couple of kittens with the cat we think must be their mother. She certainly didnt seem to mind one of them playing with her tail.

One of my favorite things to do is test #crochet patterns for the amazing creators who honor me with their trust. This Waypoint Beanie Pattern by @greenfoxfarms (IG) wasn't hard at all and turned out really pretty. This is the toddler size. The pattern includes toddler to large adult instructions. I will post an update with a link when Lisa M Fox releases the pattern.

Well, we harvested our potatoes. 🥔🥔🥔😂

Obviously, the extreme heat and drought, despite frequent watering by Mr. C whenever possible, did a number on the potatoes we planted in my raised garden bed. We were pleasantly surprised to find three decent and quite interesting potatoes when Mr. C dug through the soil this afternoon. We have a sprouting potato in the kitchen which I've cut in half to give both clumps of eyes a chance and we'll be chucking it in the planter in a couple of days once the cut sides dry. It should remain warm long enough for them to achieve something. If not, it costs us nothing to try.

I love crocheting and wearing these Mushroom Bandanas: pattern by crochetbylauren4u (IG) ! I decided to make one in appropriate colours for the rapidly approaching spooky season. The effect reminds me of a nostalgic Halloween candy.

Fair Damsel has spoiled me rotten today. She's given me wonderful prezzies and treated me to homemade chocolate biscuits and sausage rolls. We've just eaten dinner and will be starting on the birthday cake once our stomachs are ready for it.
