We started the day with a Sunbeamadelicious breakfast, which included rashers of bacon I'd cut from the joint I'd put in the freezer.

Later, as I cut wood by the lake, Fair Damsel worked in the garden, exercised, and wrote up her journal.

Mr. C gave me The Granny Square Card Deck for my birthday. I've decided to #crochet 1 square every week with Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/8 yarn, size H (5mm) hook. This will give me 50 squares with 2 weeks to join them into...something before my next birthday. Week 2 - Sunrose Square

 

Soup's ready! 😋 I used smoked chicken instead of turkey this time. I also used white rice instead of brown because that's what I had.

I've slept most of the day, on and off, after several restless nights due to intense muscular pain in my right side.

One advantage of an early start was that I had plenty of time to prepare Fair Damsel's favourite breakfast.

Fair Damsel wasn't content to be the only one spoiled today, so she spoilt me with Valencia the elephant, dark chocolate with hazelnuts, and 4 Valentine's Day cards which she hid strategically for me to find.

Mr. C gave me two truly epic new sleep shirts for my birthday. He also gave me a sparkly. Yes, I know I'm bragging, but a man this generous deserves some praise.

I'm having my birthday bath now. The water is pink and smells of roses. That bath bomb was almost as big as my fist. The water's all silky.

Mr. C was excited to have me open my birthday card and I could see why.

For those who don't speak French, the text says, " Happy Birthday! May your day be filled with happiness."

I've been cutting up the huge piles of wood from the trees by the lake for the past two days and decided to take it easy today.

Fair Damsel spent her time making chicken salad and her delicious potato soup in readiness for her birthday tomorrow.🙂☄️🌻🌞

The camper has been iffy about starting in the cold, damp weather; so I rode along to Intermarche to wait in the camper with the engine running while Mr. C got groceries. Sights along the way included a siege or egrets in a field and a murder of crows in the trees.
