Out and about with Mr. C π❤️π»...
Mr. C took a bike ride into the village to take some glass and paper to the recycling bins. He came back with some lovely pictures of the Christmas decorations. The first raises a few questions though.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?… There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do…as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same." ~M.Williamson

A chilly but brighter day spent indoors apart from feeding Limonaid and Little Goat. I also topped up their water trough which hadn't frozen over for the first time in days.
I slept most of the afternoon away which was fine because we had nothing pressing to do. I was up in time to make chips to accompany Fair Damsel's homemade KFC spiced chicken tenders and courgettes. They went down a treat with a tasty mug o' tea and an episode of Jeeves and Wooster.
All's well in our world, Sunbeams.

Mr. C and I were able to use Sarah's car to do the weekly shopping which makes parking far easier than in the camper. We got all the necessities and some treats including Mr. C's beloved Heinz Baked Beans. I got a lovely cyclamen, a fresh baguette and some gooey Munster AOP cheese. A lovely cup of tea was just the thing to complete my contentment.
All's well in our world, Sunbeams.

Update on us.

I had an early start to go with Sarah to collect her mini from Laval. Before dealing with that, we took the opportunity to visit a government office to update Fair Damsel's health card: they made an appointment for Monday afternoon.
Once home, (isn't home a wonderful word?) I made us both a late breakfast before taking a well deserved nap. Afterwards, I began work, in the garage, on making a spice rack for Fair Damsel.
Dinner was a joint effort, as usual: Fair Damsel prepared beef patties with beef & onion gravy together with leftover cabbage whilst I took care of the boiled potatoes.
It went down a treat with an episode of Midsommers Murders and a tasty mug o' tea.
All's well in our world, Sunbeams.

Another frosty start didn't deter us from going to the post office this morning. We had intended to use Sarah's car but the passenger seat was soaking wet due to an overturned bottle of drinking water. Undaunted, we headed for our camper and within minutes we were on our way.
Parking at the post office was difficult but I managed it. I stayed in the cab with the engine running whilst Fair Damsel dealt with posting two packages. Ten minutes later, she returned and we drove to the pharmacy where parking was a little easier.
Our next stop was Intermarche in La Guerche which was quite busy. As we were paying for the groceries, Fair Damsel started chatting to an English woman who was with her husband. She originated from Berkshire and her husband from Oxfordshire: I'd not seen them before.
Fair Damsel gave out her kindnesses as usual: hats to both cashiers and fingerless gloves to Issobelle. She offered a pair of fingerless gloves to the English woman but she declined as she'd recently bought some.
It had warmed up by the time we were on our way home (Isn't home a wonderful word?).

I crocheted 2 of the first 2 rounds of the pattern linked below. Then I put them wrong sides together and crocheted the 3rd round through both halves.

A relaxing day with mostly sunshine and a little rain in the afternoon. I dropped off again after breakfast and Fair Damsel woke me with a tasty mug o' tea.
We watched a ghost story by Arthur Conan Doyle afterwards which had been adapted by Mark Gatiss and it was definitely scary Mary!
Fair Damsel has acquired a taste for bubble & squeak and I made it again this evening. This time I added peas to the mix and browned it a little more than last night: it looks like she has a new favourite meal.
All's well in our world, Sunbeams.
