It's been a cooler day, spent indoors listening to stories and watching Time Team on YouTube. However, I took advantage of a sunny spell to take a stroll to the lake with a feline companion.The change since I last visited is amazing.

Today was a learning day. First, because I couldn't find a pattern for a crocheted star that someone posted that I really wanted to make, I stared at a picture and counted stitches until I figured it out.

Then I followed a YouTube tutorial to make the "Stained Glass" Granny Square which I've wanted to try for a while. It is complicated but not difficult, if that makes sense.

A productive day following a later than usual start. After breakfast, I took a stroll into the village before dealing with some paperwork.

In late afternoon, I drove to Intermarche for urgent supplies: we only had a handful of teabags left! I ended up buying a fair bit of other stuff too: 4 bottles of milk, bag of cat food, 2 bags of cat litter, and 2 kg of potatoes to accompany the 2 boxes of teabags. Total cost was €26.64.

When I returned, Fair Damsel made a batch of 8 two ingredients bread rolls from a recipe she found online. They took a lot of effort to make and she says that she won't be making them again...

Tasted good with dinner.

As for dinner...

Fair Damsel prepared chicken in white wine sauce with courgettes which went down a treat with my mashed potatoes. Absolutely Sunbeamadelicious.😋

Update: they're okay, kinda like buttermilk biscuits or scones but a little dense. Yeah. I probably won't make this particular recipe again.

 2 ingredient bread rolls...maybe

Never again! The recipe said if the dough was too sticky to add flour by tablespoons until it became smooth and workable. It never did no matter how many spoons of flour I added. Finally I just plopped some blobs of dough on the tray and washed my hands of it. Literally. 

They're in the oven now. Worst dough I ever tried to work with.
