Today I got my copy of 'Where Fairies Once Dwelt,' a book of poems by Jemia de Blondeville. I intend to savour it slowly by reading one poem aloud each evening to Mr. C.

Mr. C gave me The Granny Square Card Deck for my birthday. I'll #crochet 1 square every week with Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/8 yarn, size H (5mm) hook. This will give me 50 squares with 2 weeks to join them into...something before my next birthday. Week 18 - Busty Bloom Square

For the first time since we put the bath in, I found Moriarty in the bathroom window. He must have vaulted right over the tub as it was still full of water! I let the water out so he wouldn't fall in when he jumped down.

A cooler day today with a little rain in the morning. I took a stroll into the village just before noon and then relaxed as I'd been doing the laundry into the early hours.

Fair Damsel kept busy and sewed a beautiful crocheted sunflower onto her blanket. It looks absolutely amazing.

We kept dinner simple with boiled potatoes, sausages & beans, and a fried egg: washed down with a tasty mug o' tea. 

Absolutely Sunbeamadelicious.😋

I found a use for the chunky flower I crocheted this afternoon. It makes a capital decoration for the handle of the bathroom window.

Out and about with Mr. 'n' Mrs. C 🌞❤️🌻...

We went to La Poste this morning to mail, among other things, a crocheted hedgehog to a friend in England. I took spotting this little cutie on the way back through the village as a good omen. For those concerned about them being out in daylight, they appeared healthy and were likely disturbed by someone doing yard work and were just trundling along to the next garden to find some peace.

We've had a good day following a couple of uncomfortable ones for me.

It rained but that didn't deter us from going shopping at Intermarche and visiting the pharmacy in La Guerche.

On the way home, Fair Damsel photographed a wheat field beneath grey skies.

Going through my new supply of yarn, I was drawn to this lovely indigo. The pattern is for a headband, but I made a short length for a bookmark (un signet). I'm going to make more in different colours for #RandomActsOfCrochetKindness .

We were delighted to receive a much anticipated parcel from my Fairy Yarnmother this afternoon. Moriarty thoroughly inspected it. Then Mr. C and I gratefully enjoyed scones with lots of margarine (Mr. C says that's the proper way.) and tea. Can't wait to get hooking with these lovely colours.
