Going through my yarn stash looking for spooky shades I found myself working with bulky (5) and super bulky (6) yarn in that trending colour combination inspired by a certain recent movie sequel. She dwarfs my DK (3) chickens.

I'm getting into Halloween mode; so, we need spooky chickens for our flock. As I only had sock yarn in orange I double stranded it and used black DK. Now I'm thinking about some neon green and black bulky yarn I have in my stash. I think there may be some purple too. 🤔 Looks like I'll be experimenting with larger hook sizes for bigger chickens.

I've been naughty and opened one already as I couldn't wait until breakfast.

Today is a red letter day! Not only did I get a pic of our second feral, Freya, I touched her! Only a fingertip to the forehead but it's a start. We're seriously thinking of inviting her to join the household. I'd like to get her poor chewed ears treated.

I started with one chicken in cotton a few weeks ago. I made four of those for a commission. Now I'm making them in different colours of DK acrylic. Mr. C loves them. I told him he can pick any one he wants for his upcoming birthday. I think he'd like to keep the whole flock. I might just let him.

Rained off and on all day so we had a 'Doctor Who' marathon with Peter Capaldi.

Fair Damsel prepared chicken, Yorkshire pudding and gravy to go with my roast potatoes and veg. Absolutely Sunbeamadelicious.😋

Someone posted a video clip of Eowyn facing down The Witch King from the 1980 animated 'Return of the King.' So, of course, I had to get out my DVD of it and put it on. We have the sound of an approaching thunderstorm to add to the ambience.

A rainy start heralded a beautiful day so we headed into town. Fair Damsel sat in the camper by a visiting fair whilst I shopped before heading to Intermarché.

I napped afterwards and awoke to a Sunbeamadelicious dinner: chicken in white wine sauce.😊🌞

I always have difficulty choosing a granny square pattern for the bottom of my patchwork totes. This time I decided to make a standard granny square with scrap yarn.

I was today old when I learned that there are katydids in France. This one was crawling up the wall by our front door when we arrived home from shopping.

Twitter friend, Nixie @DCSMacTavish , suggested I try an art deco sunburst granny square for my tote. My search for patterns led me to this design which I absolutely love!

My experiment to turn this snail applique into a granny square didn't go as well as I'd hoped. I had to do some serious blocking to get it to lie flat. We'll see if it holds its shape after it dries and I unpin it.

The morning started with a powerful thunderstorm which lit up the darkness like searchlights. Mostly cloudy with showers all day so we stayed indoors.

For dinner, Fair Damsel prepared chicken in white wine sauce and I made the mashed potato.😋
