I've assembled a brood of granny square chickens for a family member. Now they have to fly over 3,000 miles (4,828 km) across The Pond. Did you know that chickens actually can fly if you don't clip their wings? Not well, but they can clear a fence as we have learnt from experience.

I really like the Sunburst Granny Square and wanted to make a flower based on it. I saw a picture of one and tried to copy it. On the left is my practice flower. It took me four tries to figure out the outer petals which I used on the right hand final version.

I had a fun project delivered this morning. I even got a shiny new Allen Key. With some help from Mr. C on the fiddly bits I was able to assemble the kitties' new play tower. Watson is already checking it out. I'm delighted that it fits perfectly in its chosen location.

We took advantage of a break in the recent rains to pop out for supplies to ensure we are well stocked as Monday is a public holiday. The wheat and hay are being harvested while the corn and sunflowers are just getting started.
