My first attempt at making garlic confit has gone very well. 😋 We should certainly be safe from Vampires tonight the way the apartment smells. 🧛‍♂️

 

Mr. C and I were enjoying our morning tea when I looked over and saw Moriarty and Watson fascinated by something on the floor. They've dispatched 2 huge spiders this week and I thought they were finishing off a 3rd but found it was a not quite dead hornet! Thank you, kitties! 😻😻
 

I'm not ready for cold weather yet but I am determined to be well enough to decorate for The Holidays this year. I tried a new snowflake pattern today and I really like it. So far I have 3 large snowflakes and 5 small stars to go on our glass doors. ❄️ #crochet
 

Last night, well early this morning really, I finished my patchwork tote bag. I knew I wouldn't be able to settle until I finished it. It's made from 13 different granny squares that I learned to #crochet this summer. I think it's one of the coolest things I've made. 😁

I crocheted this cowl a few years ago with clearance yarn but didn't have any more of it. Today I finished loom knitting a hat from three strands of DK weight yarn that I realized would match the colours. I love the big, fluffy pompom!

Scorching hot temperatures have made working during the day unpleasant for weeks so I became a nocturnal decorator. The lighting wasn't brilliant but Fair Damsel thinks the results are.

I've spent the day being depressed and pissed off at the weather. Yes. I've actually been angry at the weather all day. We were supposed to get rain. The clouds kept building up. We got 3 raindrops and then the clouds buggered off, the sun came out, and it got hot again. I cheered myself up by making a chicken ornament.

The hottest day yet of this heatwave (94°F/35°C) 🥵 kept us indoors and relatively inactive. The most strenuous thing I did today, other than crochet, was take a cool bath. We had no desire to use the oven so it was a fish-n-chips kinda night.

Some days I can't do much. Yesterday I managed to make a scrunchie and that was enough.

Last night I dreamt our one-eyed feral, Odin, took a bite of cheese from my hand and let me pet him. Don't know why that made me worry something bad might have happened to him. I was relieved when Mr. C told me he came to the door for breakfast as usual and even more so when I saw him contentedly sleeping in the garden.
