Well, I managed to NOT completely ruin my peanut butter cookies, but it wasn't for lack of trying. When the timer went off I saw that the temp was set to 125° C, not 175° C. There was nothing for it but to turn the oven up and put them back in. They turned out okay, thank goodness.
