I was looking out the skylight at something Mr. C was showing me when I noticed something odd: blossoms in a tree where I'd never seen any before. Then I realized that it was the clematis which had grown up through the branches and was blooming near the top. 🌸🤯

I have known you when
your leaves were green and supple
as the Western wind.

your leaves were brown and brittle
as any promise.
And I have known you
bare as the barren Winter
in your slumbers deep.
But dearest I have
known are the new buds that formed
on your fingertips.
For in each season
I've loved you but most as you
woke and stretched in Spring.
