I got an exciting delivery today: an interchangeable ergonomic crochet hook handle to alleviate hand fatigue and 100 face beads which will allow me to put the finishing touches on some happy strawberries I'm making.

Another scorching hot day saw us venturing into Intermarché for supplies. Once home we decided to remain downstairs because it was cooler with the shutter down.

I really like the Sunburst Granny Square and wanted to make a flower based on it. I saw a picture of one and tried to copy it. On the left is my practice flower. It took me four tries to figure out the outer petals which I used on the right hand final version.

I had a fun project delivered this morning. I even got a shiny new Allen Key. With some help from Mr. C on the fiddly bits I was able to assemble the kitties' new play tower. Watson is already checking it out. I'm delighted that it fits perfectly in its chosen location.

We took advantage of a break in the recent rains to pop out for supplies to ensure we are well stocked as Monday is a public holiday. The wheat and hay are being harvested while the corn and sunflowers are just getting started.

I think I just had a brilliant marketing idea! Sell my little bear pouches as condom keepers with the slogan, "Be safe! Always choose the bear!"

Update: Daddy is home from the hospital and doing a lot better. His doctors have made some changes to his meds which should help him to continue to improve.

My new night shirt arrived today so, of course, now we're watching #DoctorWho : The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang.

We need your prayers, please. Daddy is in St. Clair hospital. They think he has some fluid on his lungs. He claims he's "not too bad." He's having trouble catching his breath. They have upped one of his meds. That's all we know right now.

Mr. C offered to take me to the new pizza place in La Guerche for a treat but I opted for a less expensive option. This pizza Bolognese from Intermarche with added gruyere cheese baked in our oven is more than satisfactory.

I've made yet another Pora Pora Crochet pattern. This little rose is perfect to hold a battery operated tea light.
